LINDNER HOTEL & SPORTS ACADEMY

Franken Architekten's first hotel project in Frankfurt now completed

In the presence of Frankfurt's Lady Mayoress, Ms. Petra Roth the German Association of Gymnasts (DTB) officially opened its new building on Otto Fleck Schneise on June 24. The core of the new building is the Lindner Hotel & Sports Academy, which has 111 rooms. Franken Architekten was commissioned by DTB with planning the interior decorations for this three-star theme hotel with restaurant and bar facilities.

Entering the building, guests are confronted by a dramatic setting with different scenes for the hotel's various individual zones. The hotel was designed with details of, and materials from the world of gymnastics that evoke associations with sports halls, changing rooms etc., in terms of both materials and shape. Each floor of the hotel is devoted to a sporting exercise, with the individual guest room representing the culmination of this exercise. Once the guest gets past the corridor, the exercise develops parallel to his movements. Coherent down to the very last detail, the architectural concept is the emotional springboard in this theme hotel for lovers of gymnastics and indeed sport in general, succeeding in maintaining the balance between economic viability and quality of design.

U-SILK CITY

One of Vietnam's largest ongoing construction projects is making excellent progress

The building shells of the first three of a total of nine residential high-rises in Hanoi, featuring a kilometer-long shopping mall on a continuous platform, has now reached the 20th floor (building section CT1). Extending as deep as 80 meters below ground, the foundations and the two-storey underground car park on top of them are largely concreted. Provisional completion date for the entire complex is 2014.

MOSCHMOSCH MOBIL

MOBILE NOODLE BAR

Franken Architekten is planning Germany's first mobile noodle bar

Franken Architekten is planning the first mobile noodle bar in Germany for hospitality brand MoschMosch. The MoschMoschMobil is a fusion of high-tech and Japanese tradition, kitchen and culture.

Voronoi Chair

The roof elements with oriental lanterns create a diorama-like, transitory restaurant area with seating for around 35 guests and standing room for about 25 more. Inspired by mobile cook shops in Asia, as of July 2011, MoschMoschMobil is starting out, for the first time, on a tour of six selected towns in Germany, with the aim of attracting new guests in new venues there.
The mobile restaurant will be at the Museumsuferfest in Frankfurt from August 26-28.

IDEEN.DURCHSETZEN.

04.- 08.05.2011 Messe Frankfurt

The motto of the 2011 ADC summit was "IDEEN.DURCHSETZEN". With the presentation once again designed by Franken Architekten in collaboration with agencies Voss + Fischer and Hauser Lacour, the Art Directors Club competition, the world's largest creative show, was in Hall 5 at Messe Frankfurt, Frankfurt's exhibition center.

ADC

Spatially, the festival was divided into three areas: exhibition, congress and competition for the young generation. In the first part of the exhibition, the creative process involved in coming up with a promising idea was symbolized by covering the girders in the entrance area with white paper, hanging down in sheets. The paper was folded over and creased, thus representing the work involved not only in having an idea but also in committing it to paper, reworking it, reformulating it, often starting on a new sheet of paper in the process. Just as the path to the idea has a number of levels, the paper was also arranged into several layers.
