Franken Architekten contributed to a multiple assignment for an innovative hotel project of private developers and operators in Germany. Franken Architekten developed the "Five Elements Resort" as space between heaven and earth, sea and forest, by dissolving usual boundaries - Nature - Landscape - Architecture – Outside – Inside mege into each other. In the hilly topography surprising inputs and surveys create unusual perspectives. The all recurring elements in the resort open for the special senses experience. The fifth element is the synthesis of all the elements: the magic of the genius loci. Certain programs and locations can focus an element, it caused the spatial dimensions of experience into a harmonious whole : "the day". Consistently the choice of materials follows the design theme of the union integration of landscape and buildings. The design contrasts with its dynamic and flowing design language through the use of local, renewable resources.

Scenography is not confined to
the stage or screen, nor just to presen-tation events and trade shows. It is a design approach, rooted in narrative, that can be applied as well to individual buildings and even to urban environments.
